A certificate of analysis is only as trustworthy as the lab behind it. In the research-peptide market a handful of independent laboratories issue most of the credible CoAs. Recognising their names — and knowing which offer source verification — is a fast way to gauge a vendor's transparency.

Why source verification matters most
A PDF hosted by a vendor can be edited. A certificate you can re-check on the laboratory's own website is far harder to forge. That is why "CoA verifiable at source" is one of the criteria we test directly: we follow the code or QR and confirm it resolves. Some excellent labs (MZ Biolabs, for instance) simply don't offer an online portal — they authenticate by phone — which caps a vendor's score on that specific criterion even when the underlying testing is strong.
Accreditation is a bonus, not the whole story
ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation signals a lab's competence, but several respected peptide labs are independent and rigorous without printing an ISO number on every certificate. We treat a named, genuinely independent lab as the core requirement, and accreditation as an added signal — noting when a lab's accreditation is pending or in renewal.
